how to test subs

how would i test subs? more then just putting them on a amp and see if they make sound. like how do i test if they are working to peak.

you can use digital mutimeter to check ohms and continuity.....other than that you could always hook a little 9 volt battery to the terminals to make sure the sub works....it will push the cone in or out depending on which way you hook the battery up....just dont hold it there for a long time....
