Yes, you could do that as well. If it reads the proper impedance, the coils are probably functioning properly.would just using a DMM test if the sub works? as long as the reading is 0-4ohms or something?
You would power up the amplifier by using some speaker wire or whatever wire you have laying around. Open up the hood and place the amplifier near the battery. Connect the positive terminal to the positive battery terminal; same thing for the negative. You also need to connect the remote turn on wire to the positive battery terminal so that it will turn on. After you connect your ipod, turn the gains up a bit, and hook up the subs, you'll know for sure everything is working.
