you dont have to take the steering wheel off or anything look for screws under the colum that plastic comes off!
what about the Ignition cylinder screw that has to come out in order for the ignition cylinder to go out or come in.....I dont think you can just unscrew a screw from the bottom an slide the cylinder out as easily as your talking about....im 99% sure you gotta take that screw out inside the column to even take the ignition out.

in your case since they ****ed it up so bad follow these instructions ...

Step 1. Remove horn cover or airbag from wheel. Step 2. Remove the horn contact by pushing it in gently and twisting counter clockwise 1/8 turn. Step 3. Remove clip from center shaft with lock-ring pliers Step 4. Remove center bolt from shaft. Step 5. Use steering wheel puller to remove wheel. Step 6. Remove dust cap from lock plate. Step 7. Use lock plate remover to depress lock plate. Step 8. Use a pick to remove hog ring from center shaft. Step 9. Release lock plate remover and remove it and the lock plate. Step 10. Remove set screw from hazard warning switch from the outside of the column. (if equipped) Step 11. Remove the screw and turn signal lever retainer plate from the left side of the turn signal switch. Step 12. Remove three inset screws that hold the turn signal switch in place. Step 13. Gently pull turn signal switch out of the column a push off to the side. Step 14. Use needle nose pliers to gently remove the small contact clip that mounts just above the lock cylinder. Step 15. Use the appropriate screw driver (they used several different screws overs the years) to remove the lock cylinder retaining screw. Step 16. Slide the lock cylinder out of the column

and no you dont have an air bag

good info^^

dude its not too hard, those oldschool gm coulums were easy to do. Might want to do youself a favor and put a turn signal switch in while its apart, they are cheap (like $20), and it a pain in the *** to try to fish those wires down through when its in the car. I had to do it in my 89 Caprice.

because when it goes bad its a pain in the *** to do. Your brake lights run through it so one will stay on solid and the other will blink. Ever seen a car where the 3rd brake light worsk but not the tail lights? Its the turn signal switch. Its cheap, if it was mine I would do it.

ok thanks...

I need 2 sell my directed 1100d. I got someone that will shave my trunk lock and installl and alarm for extra cheap.

BTW i got a 1HR sale deal on it for $130 shiped

service manual books for your car come in handy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

i'm sure one for your car is like 10-15 bucks.

i had to spend 90 bucks for mine, though very very handy.
