How to spend $350

Hey guys, one of my friends saw my install and nmow wants me to help him do his. He has given me a budget of no more than $350 and this is what he wants:

1. Front Speakers 6.5 comps (My opinon $110 alpine SPS-171A)

The rest of the money

2. 2x 12" Subs (My opinoin get 8" or 10" and this way get better quality for the same $$)

3. Amp for subs

Questions

1. I have never used or bought subs so i have no idea what to get?

2. Can i use a 4 channel amp to power both subs out of rear channel and front speakers from front channel, is this even possible? should i get to seperate amps or just get one for the subs.

350 is not enough... barely enough for a decent sub and amp, forget about speakers

dont forget you still have to do the amp wiring and fuses, holders, etc...

if u wanna do 350, get infinity references for subs/speakers, and some cheap amp.

$160 will get you a pair of comp vr 10"s and for 190-200 you could get a hifonics NX750d that will do 750@1ohm.

I have not heard infinity, i will go with him and let him listen to some speakers and pick the ones he likes the most and try to find them cheaper else where.

Chit dis is a pain in the ars.

Here is what i've got down so far:

Front Sage:

1. Speakers Alpine SPS-171A $117.99 (ebay)

2. Amp Alpine MRP-T220 $108.95 (Online Car Stereo)

3. Dampening Edead $25 (edead website s&h not included)

4. 8 guage amp kit $20 (I'm not using and will sell to him)

Sub total $271.94

Left to spend $78.06 (He should just give me that for the research work)

What do you guys think of the Pioneer GM-X372 amp $88.95 Saves him $20 thats 20 more to spend on the subs and amp?

Harsh, man. But yeah, $350 isnt enough for all of that. Have him concentrate on one thing- maybe components and an amp for them? Then save more, and then get subs and an amp for them.

I dont know what your experience is at car audio, but I found this to be an intresting "book" about car audio. It is a bit basic but it has some good tips. The only reason I am even posting this is because it gives you some tips on how to start out a system with less and work your way up to more.
