How to Seal off my Trunk????

what has been loudest in your car?

when i had an 18 in my civic facing forward it got alot louder by just stuffing blankets around the box to seal it off from the trunk.

First I started with a floor. After 1 day of testing the box and location I found that box all the way back against the trunk lid centered was the loudest.

Then I added sides and a top sealing the box to the cabin. It was a crazy Idea I had that gave me a solid 1.5 Db!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif With the port I got it made a mini wall for my 10's.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif Next year gonna stretch the port 2 more inches for a Monster 12inch Port!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

get one from your drivers seat looking back at a low angle please. so like put the camara on center console.
Basically all you need to do is sit your box in between the panels of your backseat's opening, and bolt it or L bracket it to hold the box in place. Stuff thick towels, robes, down jackets, anything with enough thickness to easily block air, and put them around the box, making sure it is stuffed hardcore. Then, you can either leave it, or build a beauty panel and completely skip the blanket/sheet/jacket part.

Although you can do this for testing the fabrick kinda soaks up sound waves and will defeat the purpose a little.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Yeah, but I figured doing it this way would be less permanent incase he didn't like the outcome. But soon I'll be making my little wall's ''extension'' peices made from mdf to block off the airflow the the trunk.

What car do you have Thor? I wanna try my box all the way to the trunk and see if it makes a difference. Right now mines wedged to the front so I have rooms for my batt and amp.

im gonna have to look for it but i had a guy send me his way od doing it.What he did was duck taped off the whole trunk walled under the back dash and then fiberglassed over the tape so he always had a wall to put in

thats exactly what i wanted to see //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif thanks.. now i have a cavalier, do you think i should bring the box flush with the back seat and seal it off or push it all the way to the back like you did?
