how to properly launch in an manual car??

I wanna know how to launch in a manual. Ive heard that you rev it in neutral then slam it in 1st or something like that??

um.... put it in 1st (or 2nd if your car has that much power, which i doubt since you have to ask) rev it up to a good rpm where you can let the clutch out pretty fast and not have too too much wheelspin

Who told you that? So I'm guessing you have an auto since the "rev it in neutral then slam it in 1st"....you realize if you rev it in N with manual and throw it in 1st when you have high RPMS (High RPMS are not always the best place to launch a car anyways) you will scratch into first because of the moving drivetrain

Depends on the drivetrain.

Torque is an important factor.

In a 5.0, ~2700rpm.

In a Miata, 4500rpm+

Well its kinda like trying to launch an AWD car...too little and she'll just shit herself...too much and you wont catch traction...

Me I found my sweetspot to be right around 4.8-5.2

ok thanks, yes I do have an auto in my car now, and would never rev it in N and put it in first because it is an auto.. I planning on getting a Camaro sometime with a manual transmission so I just wanted to know. A good friend of mine has a 5.0 GT supercharged pretty much built and that is 1 badass car.

a) ....see over the dash

b).....reach the pedals

Step 2: Get driver's lisence

Step 3: Do burnout

Step 4: Feel good about yourself

Step 5: Buy new clutch

Step 6: Go to step 3
