How to pack a subwoofer for shipping?

I have a 12 inch RE XXX that I have to ship out, and I'm not sure how to pack it to make sure it doesn't get damaged during shipping? The speaker weighs about 65 lbs so I don't think just putting it in a normal box is a good idea.

ship in the box it came in, but add extra packing stuff(peanuts,foam,etc)

I pretty much refuse to ship a big woofer unless I have the original packaging. Stuff in the sticky works but is a pita, and it just sucks not havng the appropriate size box. Pretty hard to find the perfect size box, and its expensive to have one made.

Where do I get a crate from?

Also I don't see a sticky about packing a subwoofer?

Build it.

You can also use old pillows and shirts and what not. The whole point is to try to brace everything for the harsh conditions it's about to experience. You just don't want the magnet to become un-aligned with the basket, or the basket itself to bend.

just ship the motor and basket, should be easier unless you can't even pack the basket right

baskets is cheap enough, I'd just send the motor and pay the extra 30 or whatever for the basket. Will probably save on shipping sending just the motor instead, much smaller box

x2 what i was gonna say, just a motor is much easier to pack

i dunno man, I don't want to mess with taking the sub apart, I just want to send it to them and have them take care of it.
