How to match amp with your subs

I had 1500 on 2 12" R's and they handled it like it was nothing.
That's weird considering I ran one off an MRP1000 @ 750w a piece and they got a little stinky and you could hear the tinsels slap and it sounded like garbage. I'd never give a Type R over 600w daily. Sure Thermally they can handle it but they are just cheap woofers.

Agreed.

The ones I ran were the swr-1243D's. They never got stinky and sounded great off 1500. These are the 600W rms type r's
this..... my friend had the 15" typer-r and was feeding it around 1200 or 1300rms daily for about a year and a half(a sundown saz-1500 set with dmm), sub still works and and pounds. he was doing 146.5db average with it. it just sits in his garage now, he upgraded to a American bass hd-15 and runs a soundstream dtr 3400 now
