how to make a LOUD sealed box

you guys have any idea's on how to make a loud sealed box. My kicker l7's sound great in a 1.75 cu sealed box x2

but in the same box ported, they are loud as hell but dont sound great. so I want to do a loud sealed box, maybe a really big sealed box???? what is you .02 on this.

It can be, its all dependent on box/etc. Also depends on your bandwidth, etc. Theres SPL bandpass boxes and boxes with a wider freq. response. Im not exactly an expert. Maybe someone else will chime in and help.

Large chambers definatly help with sealed loudness, but you have to watch as it lowers the mech. power handling and youll bottom them out easier.

4th order BP's need a sub with an EBP as low as possible and the lower the better to perform with a wide response, If youre looking for a louder box and dont care much for it's +/-3dB response, the 4th order BP is much louder than a sealed box because of the gain it can produce. The flat response BP for the L7 would be a sealed rear chamber of 1.7cu ft net, and the front (ported) chamber would be .82 cu ft net. Tuning needs to be 48Hz and the bandwidth would be 30Hz - 80Hz +/-3dB anechoic. 1.75-1.8 is optimum sealed, Qtc of .7 has a F3 of 48Hz and a 10dB down of 28Hz. Its optimum enclosure would be 3.5 cubic feet ported @ 27.4Hz. Power handling would suffer but it would have a usable bandwidth of 24.5Hz - 80Hz almost perfectly flat. Heres the plots for ya.
