i'm helping my dad with an install on a 95 plymouth voyager rallye. i put in a pioneer headunit and it sounded good with the factory speakers. yesterday he went and bought new pioneer speakers to replace the factory ones, but they don't sound as loud... as if the head unit isn't giving them enough power. how can i go about wiring in an amplifier to the speakers???

The same way you would install an amp for a subwoofer, except that you will either run the speaker wires to the dash and connect with the factory wiring there or you can run new wire all the way to each speaker.

thats what i thought. then do you just leave the speaker wiring coming from the H.U disconnected?
Yes. Assuming you are going to use the RCA outputs from the head unit to connect to your new amp, then you simply leave the HU speaker outputs un-connected (tape them off).
