How to hook up...?

If I were to have 6 speakers... how would I hook them up in a car? Could I put the four 4 ohm ones on 1 amp, and the 2 ohm ones on a 2 channel?

I am pretty lost right now...

Well not the same brand, no. There will be... 5 1/4, 6.5 and 6 x 9's. The 6x9's are 2 ohm and the others are 4 ohm.

you could get better help if u told us your amp model and speaker model, im assuming you could run the 5.25's and 6.25's in parallel dropping the load to 2 ohm and wire your 6x9's to your rear channel, because I did the same thing with my amp lol, except tweeters were in place of the 5.25's...but we really won't know unless we see some power ratings

I agree with NFAMOUZ. Depending on your amp and speaker models, the 5.25's and 6.5's wired in parallel on two channels and the 6x9's on two channels by themselves sounds like the best way to me. (Theoretically all 6 speakers would receive the same power)

Sorry. Well i dont have the amp yet... but the 6x9's are rated 100w rms, the 5.25's are 80 and the 6.5's are also 80...

whoa O__O well I recommend trying to find a good 4 channel that puts out around 175-200 @ 2 ohms and seriously watch the gain settings for your 6x9's....or they go boom //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

but I think it would easier to do what you asked in your original question, get a 4 channel for your 5.25's and 6.5's, and a 2 channel for your 6x9's

So basically find a 2 channel that's around 200 rms x 2 chan @ 2 ohms.

Also, my Kicker 5.25"s are 90 RMS and my other speakers are 55 RMS... Can my other speakers be overpowered much? They're Alpine's.

you just told me your 5.25's and 6.5's were 80w rms each, now its 90 and 55? bro post the models of your speakers, I'm scared to give you any advice before I see them lol

I've exchanged speakers within the store 3-4 times trying to get a speaker that will fit, but none of them do because they seem to be of abnormal size. So the speakers I have now, and plan on KEEPING if I can make work, are 90w rms and 55w rms. I'd post models but I don't have my car right now so I don't have the information.
