How to get your roommate to do dishes?

He actually laughed at all the comments and then told me that he didn't think it was that big of a deal. But he said he'll do them from now on...

Write each of your initials on an equal amount of plates, dish's, bowls, cups etc

Everyone washes there own dishs, totaly fair. If they dont then I guess they dont eat on clean stuff.

All I can really think of on the serious side.

Leave one, nasty *** plate, fork, spoon, and cup.

Prepare dinner for him on Friday(when it's the other persons turn to do dishes and you have to do them)

I'm pretttty sure that I screwed that phrasing all up, but you know what I'm saying, I guess.

Have kids and make them do them, thats what I did.

Really though, when each family member gets done eating thay clean or rinse thier own and place them in the dishwasher. But most the time we use paperplates, depending on the meal. (have to cut meat or something along those lines we use our real plates). We have those little paperplate holders that make the paper/styrofoam plate more sturdy. $1.29 for 100 plates cutbacks on a lot of dishwashing, especially when you have kids as I do.

Do like me. Live with 4 girls. The only thing I need to do is take out the trash, shovel, and in the summer/warm months - mow.They cook clean and do dishes. Ah the life...

Ours also pile up. Our only practice that HAS worked is to wash them directly after eating and put them in the cupboards or AT LEAST rinse them off and put them in the dishwasher. When it's full, it is started. Other than that you don't really have an option. Just don't do anything you wouldn't want done to you. Cause it'll really piss him off just more.

Just tell him he needs to ONLY clean his own dishes and put them away. Should do that with everyone in your house. Clean up after yourself and all will be well as long as everyone does their part.

What does living with a female have to do with anything? They can be just as lazy and messy as the guys.

I will say me and my fiance try and split the cleaning, but I usually just do it. I actually don't mind doing the dishes or cleaning up around the place. Pfft, I can't even get the 2 girls to keep 1 bedroom cleaned. I mean I know it is a good size room, but there are two of them and I have to get on them about it constantly. That is one room I don't touch. That is their responsibility and it is like pulling finger nailz off of them to get it done. We have taken so much of their shit away and they still don't listen. They are coming down to a 4 padded walls and a straight jacket! Shit pisses me off. Good thing I go on them light, lol! I have no dishwasher neather. I used to never do the dishes because someone would do em for me. But when we get into a new house, no one does the dishes. I hate how the dishes just stack up in the sink because im not used to that, and I usually need to use the sink, and I wouldnt because there too many **** dishes. I just do em everyday, and its just 5 min out of my time everyday to do it. I dont see why people complain about doing dishes.
