how to get louder

i have a sundown 1500 on a 12" atomic ap/spl... now its loud considering its a single 12" , but not nearly what i want it to be...

ive just ordered a kinitek hc600 for the trunk... i will buy a larger one for the hood later on... this friday we will be installing the hc600 + doing big 3, as long with removing the back seat... any other suggestions? i have 1/0 power run + ground... box is 2.5 @ 35 hz with 38 sq inches of port ...

just for info im not currently getting any dimming (gains is turned pretty low, i dont want to abuse the amp)

Add another 12 with matching amp!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif You got the sickness, its never enough. I only have 2 10 jlw1''s with a jl 500/1 to them. I would be satiafiyed with your sub stage as its an improvement over mine, but after awhile (of going progresively deaf) I would want what I just suggested.; Back to your question, you didnt mention a 200-300 amp alt in your post? Or did you? I have a 260 alt and get dimming with around 1200 watts system total. Definately get a HO alt.

I have a stock alt and no dimming with almost 4x that power, I think something is wrong with yours lol.

Thats not very nice //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif How about some advice for him since you suggest your setup is "better" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif

Twistid, you might want to consider getting another sundown and strapping, or using an amp per coil on that SJA driver. Also, might want to look at making your box more "SPL Friendly" such as contoured porting, resining the interior and filling the corners. Lots of things to look at to add those db's up.

never heard of that sub......you might wanna try a different brand like dd. But then again i dont know what your current sub is all about you may have a decent set-up. Make sure your have the sub wired to the lowest ohm setting if it can handle what your amp would put out at its lowest ohm rating

Forget what i said.....crankk the freakin gain up. If it overheats and your not pushing the ohms past what is rated for it will only go into protect. Sounds like your being a puss on the gains check em with a dmm

i resined my current box. its loud on the higher end but i think the output of the lows are lacking severely. maybe because i shouldve tuned the box a little lower. its at 35hz now.

have you thrown it on a Termlab to see what you're interior is really peaking at? might reveal some issues you have with your port size / and or methodology.

hey how do you find out if my port the problem by finding the peak note? i went with 85sq inches for two 12s. they're in about 4.4 cubes net right now in my ext cab.

when i had a higher tuned box, the lows were a bit louder than right now but that was in a trunked car. it sounds as if there's a subsonic filter right at tuning but i dont have a ssf.

Duno if this helps, but when i played a 45hz note in my car (subs in trunk) it peaked at 43-44hz on the TL. Seems the trunk setup make the note peak a little lower due to the way the car's built.
