how to find actual rms output of amp? dmm?

well im gonna be getting a amp that would way over power my sub ma audio 4000. is there a way to find out how much rms i am pushing out so i can adjust it to around the subs ratings till i get more subs?

you can't FIND power with just a DMM, but you can set the gain to keep the amp from trying to produce more power than it can (which would cause it to clip).

I think you'll need an O-Scope and Tone Generator + the DMM.
