how to figure amp power at 8 ohms?

i assuming there is nothing worng with running an amp at 8 ohms (correct my if i'm wrong). so for you math gurus:

amp does 780 @ 2ohms

amp does 460 @ 4ohms

amp does ??? @ 8ohms

formula or answer will do. thanks in advance

yeah that would work B.J, but if he can't figure out how to read Ohm's law it won't help him. Without knowing the specifics I'd say your looking at about 200 watts.

Ohm's Law would work if all amps were 100% efficient....but they aren't and all vary in efficiency. And thats not even getting into regulated power supplies

Running an amp at 8 ohms is fine and wont damage it at all, if that's what your asking.

I concur at 200ish watts

well heres what i got, the amp does %59 of the power it makes at 2 ohms at 4 ohms. using the same percentage it does around 270 at 8 ohms. anyobdy want to step up with a mathmatical answer?

either way its right in the ballpark i need it to be.

yes but amps are more efficient at higher ohms
