How to downfire a sub

If I am not mistaking (and someone correct me if I am) I am pretty sure when down firing the best way is to use 3 "walls" as legs (basicly leaving one opening facing whatever direction works best in your setup) and the sub should be off the floor aprox. a height of double the one way XMAX of the sub. So basicly if you your sub has an XMAX of 20mm (.79" roughly) your legs or "walls" should be roughly 1 1/2"-1 5/8" tall.....

and putting it on the seats probably won't work well

the padding in the seats could absorb the acoustic energy (destroy bass) instead of coupling it to the floor of the car (enhance bass)

I designed my own custom shaped box for my wrangler. Then I sold the wrangler and bought a cherokee

Its narrower at the top and wider at the bottom. 2 cubes net, 1 chamber for each sub. That sounded real good in my wrangler, and with the hard top on it just slammed (cabin gain ftw)
