how to connect laptop to tv

just wondering what are the cables and where can i get them to hook up my laptop to my tv so i can watch movies and such on it

i want sound and video from the laptop to the tv. the laptop i am using is a dell vostro 1500 if that makes any difference

either an s-video cable if you have an out put or a vga cable . if your tv has an input ..

as far as sound you can get a 3.5mm headphone jack - rca plug and just plug it in the tv

like this

it depends on what connection yo tv accept.

either get

a s-video

a vga

or s-video to rca

and for sound a 3.5mm to rca

and my tv the one has only a s-video and rca's the other ones has s-video and hdmi or w/e

ok i just bought on ebay the rca to headphone 3.5mm jack that goes to the rca's on the tv

so i only need a vga to s-video 4 pin correct or 8 pin
