How to buy an inspection sticker?

So my car has expired tags on it now. It's not going to pass inspection because the tint is too dark. I could have the tint removed but that's going to cost me $200+ to have it taken off and put back on. How do I go about buying a sticker? I know it can be done, but is there a certain way you're supposed to do it, or are you just supposed to straight up bribe them? Any tips or special places to look?

I suppose you could register a car and then put that sticker on your window. We don't have those kinds of problems though.

FInd a place that doesnt care about tint...mine is illegal(20%), and i got mine inspected by a guy that passed it anyway...and it still cost regular price..

Just take it to them, and if they tell you it didn't pass. Be like "How much to make it pass?" and if he says he doesn't do that, go to another shop. Look for a place thats kind of run down and/or ran by mexicans.

Usually most garages that do inspections will pass you without care about the tint or for a little $$. But remember it is illegal and I do not advocate doing this.

yea new york needs one. but i have never heard of the tint being checked for the ispection. althought, the tint laws up here **** because you cant have any tint what-so-ever on your windows.

If I do recall, you are legally allowed to tint as long as it's not past a certain %... I MENT pay to have it retinted to legal standards.

know a buddy of a buddy that works at a station that inspects? That's how many around here got around, slipped them a $20 for a new sticker.
