how much you getting back from tax's or paying?

Mom wont let me file independant because she is stupid. I would pay her the difference but nope...her logic doesnt work that way.
I really like how she swears up and down she is going to transfer money out of my account to pay for w/e I buy through paypal (I use her credit card and she transfers the funds from my account to hers) and it never happens untill one day she cant figure out why her credit card balence is $300 over what her books said it should be then she remembers...it's a nusence for me when I am trying to budget my spending.

Scary thing is she handles the business's books. On time she paid me $200 too much in my pay check because she added one week of pay twice...

She also rants about the freezer not working right, so she buys another one. Just because our power bill is like $200 and the freezer wasnt staying as cold as she though it should. Un benounced to her that the setting had been turned all the way down...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

$200 power bill wouldnt have anything to do with the hot tub, 52" TV my dad keeps running all the time, their $42" Flat screen CRT in their room that is running all the time and the fact that she opens doors because it is comfertable outside but forgets to turn off the heater...then yells at me for leaving my computer monitor on in power save mode when the computer is off...

/clueless mom rant
this is true a big screen tv say projection probably wastes about 300 watts a plasma thats about 60" about 500 watts both together wont waste more then 30-40 a month if on 12 hours a day every day and a laptop uses about 50 watts

now a personal heater is 1500 watts! those small ac units are like 600 but central air is like 3500 watts.

my roomys are clueless to this to i try to educate them but sometimes they have to figure it out on their own

other day electricity kepted going out they thought it was cause of my tv LMFAO i showed them i turned it off they turn on this old *** blow drier and like 2 minutes later the circuit trips again... then i look at them with the face i told you so lol

well **** apparently i full of false info about taxes oh well, but anyway can you explain the education credits stuff and im also married and have a kid
That is what that form 8863 is for. So you can take advantage of the lifetime learning credit, provided you went to a real school.

i wanted to file so i wouldn't have so much taken out of my check, but my parents said i might would have to pay at the end of the year. i definately do not want to pay at the end of the year.
You could estimate your taxes based on estimated income, which is exactly how I do mine. For instance, I estimated I will have an $35,000 (AGI) this year (I was close) this is how the tax bill works

7,550 * 10 % = $755

27,450 * 15% = $4117.50

So, my tax bill will be $4872.50

Once I have paid this sum, I claim 3 dependants so the tax withheld is about zero. They do take out some, but it is nominal and helps if I make more than I think I will.

yeah it works good. i used it last year.. but i had to pay $20. This year it was free for some reason.

It works great and is easy to use. But my taxes aren't difficult.. I'm a poor (made almost 11K after 401K contribution //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif), a student and i contribute a small amount to a 401K.

They actually got me more money than i paid in.. i think i paid in $844 according to my w2 and I'm getting $989 back.. i think cuz of a earned income credit, but i don't have any kids. I got some break for the 401K and being a student as well.

You don't have to send in shit.. and it gives you a nice PDF record of it..and it imported all my info from last year when i went to the site and logged in. I highly recommend it. seriously...not like a regular faulkton recommendation //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I got investment income, and am not elgible for any credits because I make too much. I might check it out since it is free.

That isn't bad. I think H & R block charges like 20% for rapid refund.
Has anyone tried that free-file deal? I haven't and probably won't because I send in a packet of stuff. It seems like a good idea and might get a refund faster.
i have done the h&r block free file for the last 2 or 3 years and will do it again this year.

i always get my refund pretty quick direct deposited in my account.

but last year i owed like $79 which was pretty gay, but it is better than owing like 1000+

i think i will be getting 4-500 back this year
