How much voltage?

why are you testing the preouts....are those what is entering your amp...no the rca connects the pre out to the amp...check the rca's when they are connected to the preout....not the preout itself.

~Tested RCA's that go into the amp. Black on shroud, red on pin. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif:verymad://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif:verymad://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif

You said choice between 200 and 500 is that millavolts or volts? Cus if it is volts you wont be able to get a reading with that meter on ur rca's and you can check the preouts if its not powering there it sure is hell isnt going to at the end of the rca's.

~Switched to a analog multimeter cause it goes down to 15v ac range instead of 200v.

-RCA's going to the amp.

so.......my Headunit is ****ed? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif:verymad://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif:verymad:

Check to see if your ground is zeroed for the deck. If you have it grounded the car harness change it. Do your own ground.

why? It has run fine for over a year and my music still plays. The RCA's are the only things effected.

My speakers are wired through the harness.

Okay, is the head unit playing anything? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
yes.

Not sure then. Since there is not a positive or negative voltage, it isn't biasing due to improper grounding etc. Do a resistance test with the head unit off between the RCA out and ground of the RCA. Is it shorted?

Please explain that part more in depth.
