How much space between sub and box.

I had a box built for my truck and it has right under 6" of mounting depth and is for 2 8s (measured at the top of the box.) I was looking at the soundqubed hds2.108 which has a mounting depth of 5.5". Soundqubed told me it would work but they don't recommend it because the sub couldn't vent enough. Is this true? If so then I'll be looking at the sundown e3s and Alpine type rs. I just really preferred the soundqubed due to the higher power handling.

Ive seen several recommendations to stay away from soundqubed and dc subs and the same people have said that both companies amps are perfectly fine. I put a pair of soundqubed hds 10’s in a buddys car and they slam and are still running strong 2 years later

what u could do is add to front baffle 3/4" give u little more depth., ask how much they charge to do that..

Ive had 6 Soundqubed subs and 6 of their amps with zero issues.

I was not impressed with my DC 18"s though.

sq have a rep of not having great sq (ironically) the lower ends anyway but dc never heard that and 1 guy here competes with dc and has won many times doing over 150 with 2 12's and 4k dc amps now upgrading to 4 12's and 12k amp i think it is.. but op problem is just mounting depth

SoundQubed is a win in my book from my hands on experience. What amps did you have? The new 2200s are rated at close to 2400 watts on sq's site

Do you guys think that under half an inch would be enough to vent.
That should be ok. Obviously, a tad more would be ideal, but I don't think you're gonna run into any real problems from this amnt of venting

Thing is about the baffle is it's going to be down firing under the rear seat of my truck. With the baffle it will hit the floor at full excursion.
How much space between the cone and floor at rest?
