ok so i have a JL 500/1 and a alpine type r that should all be hooked up in a matter of days...the questio ni watn answered is i have seen a 250/1 power 2 12" L7's and a 500/1 power 2 12" type r's to there "MAX" with a 500/1 on a single type r, how muhc power should i realistically be expecting out of my amp...im thinking more than 500...

it will probably run a good bit over 500 constantly not to sure though put it on a dmm when its installed

I had my 500/1 set to 700 watts with a dmm@1ohm it did fine.

You have a dvc 2 ohm type r right?

So wire both +'s and -'s on the sub straight to the amp it gives you a 1 ohm load.

You can do this with a jump wire. On the back of the sub hook a wire from + to + and then another wire from - to - , and then take another wire run one + and one - to the amp.

BTW If you dont know about setting gains I would suggest you learn. The 500/1 is not rated to go below 1.5 ohms but it will. Clipping will kill your amp and possibly your sub.
