how much power?

I am making a sealed box for 2 10" type r's and i was wonderin how much continuous power they should get. It says they can handle up to 500w rms, but i heard they need some power in a sealed box. Should i get a amp that supplies 500w rms per a channel or would i be fine with something lower?

Give them their recommended RMS to begin with. If they're not loud enough, consider using more...

Most subs of good construction will take a certain degree above their RMS input ratings safely.

Most subs of good construction will also operate satisfactorily driven with no more than their RMS input rating.

i planed on gettin the MA Audio HK802SX which is a 2 channel 4400w peak power amp with 500w rms per a channel

great amp, but id think twice about getting it, unless you have a beefy electrical system. look for somthing else

i plan on doin the big 3 before i get all of this in, would it be fine then or still be too much
