I am making a sealed box for 2 10" type r's and i was wonderin how much continuous power they should get. It says they can handle up to 500w rms, but i heard they need some power in a sealed box. Should i get a amp that supplies 500w rms per a channel or would i be fine with something lower?

so 500w rms would be fine for them
Most subs of good construction will take a certain degree above their RMS input ratings safely.

Most subs of good construction will also operate satisfactorily driven with no more than their RMS input rating.

500w apiece should do them fine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif
