How much polyfil?

I did a search and came up with for a 1 cube box I should be using about 1 lb of polyfil.

However when I put my polyfil in I only loosely packed it and maybe got .5 lb if that. I can definatly pack more in there just curious if it is the right thing to do. Is there such a thing as too much? I'm dealing with Kicker Comp 8's in a small box they say anywhere from .5 - 1.2 Should I stuff more in there?

I'd go with what you already put in and see how it sounds. Then stick the rest in and give it a listen. 1-1.5 lbs per cf is the correct amount and should make the sub(s) think it's in an enclosure 25% larger.

Question about polyfil. Isn't the fluffy fake snow stuff made of the some thing as polyfil?
Nope. Polyfill is simply another name for polyester filling. The same stuff that's probably in your pillows or in stuffed animals. It lowers the Fs and Qtc of an enclosure by minute vibrations of the fibres causing slight heat dissapation.

Made a difference for me. Used 16 oz per 1 cube and made my bass seem more richer, fuller and fill the car with sound more....no placebo effect here.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/greedy.gif.5a53e6246569d7ab79867170f3b06629.gif You can buy it that Joannes craft store.....and yea really stuff it in there...uses some spray adhesive to hold it to the sides and if you dont like it just pull it out.
