I'm not gonna hide anything, I have bought and sold numerous items here. I have only once bought something here and made a noteable profit on it and that was the broken PC I bought from 2002xlt. He didnt want to deal with it and I took the chance that I could fix it.
I bought it for $75-80(i think) and I sold it two weeks later on craigslist(cause i didnt want to reship it) for $200. I spent a few hours fixing it and reinstalling windows as well as a few days testing it to make sure it was stable enough to sell. Depends on what your time is worth.

I made a whole $4 on some ram I sold a few weeks ago as well, but I also saved the buyer $20 over what he could have gotten it for online. I got rid of some extra ram, making a few bucks to cover my expenses for packing and driving to the post office and the buyer saved some money, win/win.

There is a FS thread in the classifieds right now where the seller openly admits that he "purchased the items for a great deal on ebay and is reselling them here". This particular seller sells boxes of unopened merchandise from time to time and I highly doubt he is losing money on the sales. To think that everything sold here has to be for a loss is stupid, some people dont like to lose money.

I also buy many older pc parts here and other places. I offer rather low prices to motivated sellers, sometimes considered a lowball. To rip them off? To resell for a profit? No I build cheap pcs and donate them to friends, co workers or to Salvation Army

FWIW I have a Compaq laptop I may sell soon. I traded it for computer parts which I bought for $300, so basically I have $300 invested in it. Should sell it for $300 and just make my money back or should I sell it for $500-600 that it is actually worth? Hmm...

If you dont like me because of this, thats fine.

If you dont want to buy from me or sell to me, thats fine.

I dont fault this at all. And im the guy that sold that pc to him. Scoobys a good guy all around. It shouldnt matter one way or the other from a buying standpoint, if its a good deal, its a good deal. If someone gave something to me of value, would you expect me to just give it away as well because i cant profit from things on here?

I think that rule refers more to dealers, where its obvious that they are on here to turn a profit.

how have i profited?
i bought a broken computer, i fixed it and resold it taking into account the time i spent fixing it. any pc repair shop would have charged at least $100-150 to fix it.

otherwise everything i have sold here has been at a loss due to deflation or i have gotten my money back

only a loser would intentionally throw away money!

Then why don't we charge for our advice? Ever asked a question? If so, next time I am going to tell everyone to charge your ***...because like you said...it's perfectly okay to charge people for whatever.

Invested a lot of money in a book? dont they only cost about $20? I guess for you that may be a lot of money considering you are so upset that I make a few bucks once in a while instead of losing money around here.

Yes, I got pissed that someone would post a spoiler thread to ANY movie. Not because I am a Harry Potter fan, only because of the ethics of the whole thing.

Oh no it was a Harry Potter film and it is a joke if you are over the age of 12 and you enjoy them so lets ruin it for others? if someone posted spiolers to movies you were waiting to watch i am pretty sure you would be a little upset.

What your saying is it is ok to deliberately ruin the enjoyment of something for others, yet it is a perma ban offense to post "first" or to "rick roll" someone in a thread. Kinda backasswards IMO

It is very clear that you dislike me and dont want to be my friend, I feel the same about you and honestly unlike you I am not here to make friends. I have plenty in the real world, but trying to protect the members here is never the wrong thing to do.

I am not sure why I spend so much time explaining things to you other than I see you as a confused child that needs help once in a while understanding things that normal people call "common sense".

Of all the money I have made here, almost none was profit. Just stuff I needed gone and out my way. I sold most my audio equipment thats where the big amount i have made comes in.
