How much have you spent on car audio since starting out?

I was just thinking about this the other day, I only got into car audio about 5 months ago when I bought my first car (Senior in highschool). I realized I have spent alot of money so far on my system mostly due to lots of failures (Fried amps/Subwoofers). Mainly making this thread to see how much everyone has spent on their system since starting out.
I realize most people don't know exactly how much they have spent, but if you just want to share a ballpark estimate on what you have spent so far, that's great //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

So let me share my experience so far...

2 12 inch Alpine Type R's bought from my brother - 275$

Amplifier wiring kit bought from Best Buy - 120$ (Stupid I know)

Third 12 inch Type R bought off ebay - 120$

Planet Audio amp off ebay - 190$

Yellow Optima battery from Advance Auto - 170$

4 Kicker coax off ebay - 90$

12 feet of 0 gauge - 30$

10 Ring terminals - 13$

JVC deck - 60$

Prefabricated box - 80$

Custom made box (including designs and MDF) - 105$

Grand total - 1133$.... :O

I'm sure I left a couple things out but that's mostly all of my main purchases since starting out in the car audio game.

Anyways let me know how much you guys have spent total since starting out.

Definitely don't have to list out all of your purchases like I did, just kind of want to use this thread to keep track of my car audio spending //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
I started out in 1989 and I purchased the Alpine 7909 new so that banged me out for a few dollars off the bat.

Since then between all the Rockford Power Series and Stillwater stuff, Precision Power, custom installs etc I'd say easily 50 schmears.

Been just over a year, and right around $700.

Sub amp, speaker amp, amp kit, deadener, custom enclosure, sub, front speakers, big 3 wiring, dash kit, harnesses, accessories, random bits.

I started off with a system gifted to me, so I've slowly been able to trade that stuff out for other equipment or cash, to keep my cost down, otherwise I'd be closer to a grand. My HU was a christmas present. And just about everything I have I bought used, so it's already depreciated in value, and I shouldn't lose much (if any) money on it when I sell it for upgrades.

YOU sir... are a hoarder. Haha, it doesn't make any sense to me. I'd only have it if I could use, or plan to use it soon, or have an equipment rotation for my vehicles... or have SOME sort of use for it.

Since I joined ca.com I have spent $7000+!!! When I first joined, someone here told me this hobby was a $ pit and they were not lying. I bought my first system in 1995. From then till I joined I have spent about the same. But when I was younger it was about $1 a watt. Plus major upgrades for a 1500 watt system.

I think a better question is "how much have you spent on your current ride?" Giving a total tally of how much you've spent since you started the hobby doesn't give us much to go off. And it's not comparing apples to apples. One guy might have started in 1990 and obviously will have more than the guy who started last year but they may have the exact same system in their current cars. Can we rephrase the question b/c I'm curious too? If you can quote how much you spent, what you have in your current ride including any changes, and perhaps what type of car, I think that will give us a better indication.
