How much gain should I apply to my amp?

I have an Orion XTR3 15" DVC inverted in a sealed 2.4 cubic foot enclosure. I also have a Hifonics HFI1000.1D. My sub is rated 500w MAX and we're running it at 2 ohms. My amp is rated 750w RMS @ 2 ohms. I was wondering how should I set my gain so I don't blow the sub?

100%.

Too many other variables, either audibly tune till distortion and dial it back, or do like someone else will come in here and say to do, tune with a DMM. Oh, and search.

check out this video...it should be able to get you started. there is not a specific spot to place your gain on your amp. its a sensitivity adjustment not a volume control.
