Looking to sound deaden my car before I install my stereo. I read the sticky about sound deaden post and there is a lot of stuff that I can't do...I only know how to apply dynamat //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If I only use dynamat, will it sufficent? I've read people apply 2 or even 3 layers of dynamat...is that nessescary?

I plan on buying 1 bulk pack and 1 trunk kit.

Here's my set up:

HU: Eclipse CD7000

Sub: ID IDQ 10"

Speakers: Seas Reference Comp.

Amp: helix hxa500 mkII

hey leon, i suggest if you want the best bang for the buck go to http://www.raamaudio.com/. you get 62.5 sqft of deadener and it should be sufficient for your car. i have two layers on my doors as well. if you want to go hardcore, get some ensoilte foam to put over the deadener which blocks out road noise.

since you are a member at eca, email rick and he should give you a lil discount. just ask nicely. rick is a member at eca so he gives discounts. i got $5 off for my ensolite foam.

Wow thanks guys! That should save me some $$$

I'm going to get some RAAMmat and some of those foam. Using these two should be good right? 2 layers per door and the whole trunk.

The sticky mentioned putting on clay for the speaker basket, then putting a egg carton, and applying liquid deander...i hope I'm not missing out too much. Also I can't make a MDF speaker basket cuz i don't have any of the tools neccessary to make it so i'm just going to use my stock one.

i mean if you can, please make your own baffle because the i'm guessing the stock baffle is plastic, which resonates pretty bad. ask a friend if they have a jigsaw laying around and you can make your own baffle with that using mdf. much better than plastic.

I agree. Home Depot will pre-cut some MDF and then all you need to do is find someone with a jigsaw. Hell I think you can rent them at Home Depot too. If all else fails ebay has them but they are overpriced. Ask someone on the forum to make you some. I'm sure someone will.

If your on a budget he will work with you. He told me not to tell how much he gave me a roll for and I promised not to. I will say it was under the prices I see on the forum.

How much do you need? None.

How much is enough? Well.....

That is 3 bulk packs, 6 door kits (equivalent to 2 more bulk packs) 4 extremeliners, a bunch of Tac Mat, and a bunch of dynazorbs.

Didn't need any of it, but it does work pretty nice.
