How much does box size matter?

I have a duel 12" box (3/4" MDF) with 1 cubic foot on each side. I got this box because I got a deal on it and was short on cash after getting my subs and amp. I have 2 12" Eclipse 88120 DVC (500wrms) being pushed by a JBL bp1200.1. I've got everything wired correctly presenting the amp with a 1ohm load (it is 1ohm stable) but its not as deep as it should be. How much bigger should I make my box in order to correct this? I have not seen many Eclipse setups but I'm sure someone here has //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Thanks for your help

If the box is built well, then you shouldn't need more than about 1 cu ft internal because those subs like small sealed enclosures. You might get a little louder sound if you increase to about 1.25 cu ft int, but you'd probly lose a little bit of the punch of the bass. Go look on eclipse and see what they recommend for their speakers and go from there
