ive got a phoenix gold xenon 1200.1 [1200 rms]

and two 12" rockford fosgate subs. I dont know the specs on these except they are 400w a piece and are 8ohms.

I will be running an 2ohm load since I dont think my amp does 8ohms

what is a safe setting on the gain for these subs?

youre calling me the noob!?!?!? 8ohm+8ohm = 2ohm on a mono amp.

even rockford fosgates wiring site says that. they are svc's.

looks like RF's website is retarded

I would laugh if i turned the gain all the way tho hahaha. BOOM smoke smoke

anyway, does anyone know what my DMM should read when i play the sine wave? I dont know how many watts rms these subs are. thats why i thought id ask.

and all i got was a douchebag.

im in chicago.

and arent you supposed to put them on the + and - of the amp and run the sine wave? with the HU @ 3/4 the way up

do you know what its supposed to read @? I cant find the write up that had all the awesome #'s.

these punch HE 12's are the older black lookin ones. im guessin the pair is prolly 400rms total

he's? i think they take a little more power than that. also i beleve two 8ohm single voice coil subs wire to 4ohms. sine my two single 4 ohm subs wire to 2ohms. so ya it will be 4ohms that your amp sees.

yeah rockford fosgates website was wrong on the wiring ohm load. this is what the HE's i have look like...

for one, yes your amp will do 8 ohms. going higher is never a problem but if its only stable to say, 2ohm, going below that would be a no no but going higher isnt a problem.... your amp wont put out as much power as it would at 2 or 4 ohm but it will work just fine.

for two, your amp isnt going to just magically blow up just because you turn your gains up all the way. you will be clipping the hell out of the signal and damage your speakers, but the amp wont just blow because you do it.

and isnt the thread you are looking for a sticky in the amp section?

dude i dont know why your saying i thought i would blow the amp.

even in the title it says without blowing the subs...................

so stop being a jerk with your "magical" speech.

whats with people on here? if you wanna be a douche go be a douche to someone who deserves it.

the highlighted part makes it sound like you could of been talking about the amp...... sorry for my misunderstanding. ill go take a timeout in the corner now

now seriously. you are going to come in here, make comments about how you dont think your amp is 8 ohm stable, then not know how to search where there is clearly a sticky on how to set the gains on an amp, and you are going to get butthurt just because you get flamed a little. seriously.... eat a dick retard.

hey dick, i know how to set my gains properly. why dont you actually read the posts before you stand on your soapbox.

feel free to below me

Who would want to help a *****y little girl like you? Not me that's for sure.

Do a search, and figure it out for yourself!
