1300 max daily...i accually inquired about this to scott thats the most he recommended he said 1500 is possible but you will run into problems

i have mine hooked up at like 1200rms, so far it has seemed fine.

i had 3000 watts on my pair and they took it, never bottomed out, but after beating on them a while you could smell coil. if you want more power handling, spend a few extra bucks on a bl.

The q's have a significantly softer suspension than bl's and btl's.

Mines getting around 1500rms. My cars electrical can't take me turning the amp up any higher.

Haven't smelled it yet, but considering i got it from gta he probably burned off everything already.

That and i don't have any sound deadening in my car other than the trunk lid so the panel vibrations get STUPID when i crank it, so i don't do that for extended periods.

I think i should have tuned the box a little higher, or it needs bracing. Probably both. Although i did do a 1 inch void free birch front plate. It's 4 cubes at 29hz. It kinda gets sloppy on double bass not bad but i notice it. Hell it could be car panel vibrations making it sound sloppy.

I'm gonna build a new box once it gets a little above freezing outside:uhoh:

But yea, that sub wangs. Gonna see if i can get it metered, i found a guy with a tl thats within 20 min of me.

For the o.p. the q is better if you want to get loud on less power and get more sq. The bl is a little less sq and a little more spl, increasingly so with the options which can increase the power handling quite a bit. The bl's have potential to get louder than q's, but probably won't be much.

I have about ~1200 watts on a 15" Q and I have never had an issue....

i checked my gains today with my dmm and i had them set to 2200.... and i never smelled it nor did it show any signs of having a problem with it. I'm not condoning running that much as i backed my gains down to 1800. Just telling you, they're beasts.

But there also being run in an area thats never above 50 degrees in the winter.

I give mine 1200+ daily from a PG Tantrum 1200.1

anything over 1400 watts of actual power would lead the Q down the road to not happy...

Got my 12'' in a sealed 1.66 after dis. on a Ma 401sx which produces 1200rms at 1ohm with only a little over a quarter gain. sucker moves like crazy. Im thinking the Q is pulling more than 1200 since it dual 1.7 if I recal will will actually pulling watts at around .7 ohms on the amp and my 401sx rates 1800 at .5 sounds and wangs good thought. So I would recommend around 1300 of cleean watts depending on box size.
