depends upon the car. it can be a PITA to get wires through the doors or just getting the door panels off...

All depends on the car.

does the HU just slide right out, Ford Style or Do you pull all the panels and the entire trim, Chevy style.

Cover pop off the doors or have to pull the full panel? Adapter Ring?

Pull rear seat for the deck?

Ever done an XB you have to pull most of the rear to get to the back speakers.

As said depends on the car and the install. Heck I just got the HU in my truck and I probably have over 40 man hours into the install. Granted I work somewhat slowly and it required making a custom fiberglass panel to mount the HU to along with some switches and a brake controller and get it mounted into the car. Fastest could probably be 15 minutes (without breaking a sweat) but this would be a basic install with no RCA cables to run using a wiring harness and a dash kit in a relatively simple dash (or just experienced working on that dash.)

For my personal installs I like to take my time, specially when running wires so that I know they are not gonna get cut or crimped and look nice and neat if someone ever sees my work.
