Took me about half an hour to install my HU, mainly because I had to drill new mounting holes in my factory brackets.

2 hours for my subs, working around a box that barely fits in the hatch..

i could do it in 3 hours in a ford but not in a bwm, so theres not really a good answer

for an ex cab truck, with full disasembly of interior minus the headliner ,

took a couple hours to dissasemble,

took a couple hours to soundproof floor,

took a couple hours to do all doors,

then couple hours to do install of coaxs and components and run wires ,

then another hour or so to wire amps and subs ..

so quite some time really ..

Id say all night I like to take out the car seats and everything, I love installing so much I do it for free

I've spent about 10 hours on sound deadening alone. First time for me ever taking out a full interior though.

In my accord it took me about an hour or two to install the head unit if you count soldering the wiring harness on (if not about 20 mins)

About an hour for my power wire the first time when I was installing 8 gauge, probably about 45 mins when I replaced it with 0 gauge.

Building the box id say about an hour and half total time spent on that over a few days

Well, I know box building, etc. takes awhile.

My box took 3 hours to build.

Other 3 buddys I've installed stereo's for have had pre-built boxes, etc.

I know some sub boxes require alot of attention which is why I left it out.

I don't instal unless it's for a friend, but I just finished my 4th stereo so I was just curious as to what it usually takes because either it DOES take that long, or I just take a long time.

On my buddys Neon, I spent quite a while, 8 hours? installing his 2 amps, components, deck. Sub box was pre built so all I had to do was run a wire to the trunk.

Friends' BMW, components, running RCA's (as he already had a deck) and the battery was already in the trunk, sub box pre built took about 4 hours because we had to make new kick panels out of MDF for the 6.5's

My Volvo, deck, components, co axials, 2 amps was about 8 hours as well, not including the 3 hour box build.

The buddys 2007 Civic took me about 8-10 hours because I had to pull engine parts out in able to acess the firewall and for the deck, the deck install kit for the new civics requires taking half the dash off and took quite a bit of time.

8 hours is about what it takes me to install a stereo.

Note I wasn't looking for exact times, I just wanted to know how long it took you guys to install what on what vehicle.

Installed my friend's sub amp, and box in a '96 Civic. Took me about 3 hours, trying to explain what I was doing the whole time. That jackass would not shut up. Running the power wire was the worst, 'cause he didn't get enough, and decided he wanted to reroute every damn thing in the car...

I helped a friend do an install on a 1990 oldsmobile and it took me about 4-5 hours
