How is your MP3 player set up?

I recently got a 30GB Creative Zen and a Pioneer 590IB (since my 3700MP didn't have an aux input, I just upgraded).

Anyway, it looks very "unclean" right now and just looking for some ideas on what I can do with it rather than just leaving it on my passenger seat or in the center console thing.

Pics please!

ipod in the glove box. controlled through my pioneer.

not too happy with the interface, but i am very happy with the ability to have it hooked up through my HU, controlled through my HU, and charg as i use it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Unfortunately, I can't control mine through the HU. I would like that feature, but I just can't stand iTunes, so iPod wasn't going to work for me =(

Unfortunately, that's not what I want, and you know it. Doesn't anyone have their MP3 player mounted in some way on the dash or something? I'm just looking for ideas here...

I used an RCA to 1/8" adapter cable, drilled a hole in the back of the in-dash pocket, ala the below picture. When I want to use my MP3 player, I pull out a bit of cable, plug it into the line-out on my MP3 player and sit it in the cupholder. When not in use, the cable is tucked back into the pocket so that it is not visible.

i did a nice velcro job on my old ipod before i could control it with my HU....just velcro the dash and back of the ipod you can mount it anywhere....i had it in the middle of my steering wheel once too....with an FM transmitter

Yea, I almost wish I had got an iPod now so I would be able to just hide in the glove box, but this isn't for use just in the car and is much better than an iPod except for the lack of extra peripherals.

care to explain why its better with its lack of support for... everything.

i know its a matter of personal oppinion, but when i got my mp3 player i set out a list of criteria it had to meet. it needed to play mp3's, interface with my car stereo and be controlled/charged through the interface, and most importantly, it needed to play mp3's. my choice was simple //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

they all are equally as user friendly IMO. you say you dont like itunes, but you only really have to use itunes to sync it. other than that you never have to open or look at the program //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I use a good pair of headphones with it, the Sennheiser HD515s. On my Creative, it plays pretty loud and is very clean. On my friends iPod, it's not nearly as loud and it doesn't sound as clean. Overall, it's just much better in that respect, and since that is it's primary use, that's what it needs to do best.

320 Vbr MP3s + Creative + HD515 = portable music heaven.

eh, IMO if your going to be looking for sound quality, an mp3 player isnt the avenue to go. i got mine solely for the portability, didnt have to sound great, after all its primary usage is on airplanes and while jogging. and in those situations music is music to me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

but im not here to argue your opinions //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif .

And that's exactly why I said it does what it needs to do best. I wanted good portable SQ, you wanted decent portable sound with a small footprint. Obviously my setup wouldn't work well for jogging, but I don't jog anyway >_>
