yup, usamps will do its rated rms with low distortion while hifonics doesnt do its rated rms at high distortion.

As long as the THD is under 1% or so for solid-state amps in subwoofer duty, you won't tell an audible difference...

Dampening factor also plays a key factor.

And to relate to the corvette/oldsmobile

The olds will **** down the gas(amperage) while the vette is just sipping it.

DF is important, yes, but I doubt there's that much a difference between the output impedances of a Hifonics amp vs. the output impedance of a US Amps model (their SS amps, of course).

Visonik is Anaba Groups "average" line. Not great, not budget. I've owned one of their class X amps and it performed great. I also use alot of MA Audio amps and they are rock solid.
