Ever wonder why some "1000w" amps cost $150 and other 1000w amps cost $350? Think about it now.. thats why we all say that you get what you pay for, imagine going 85MPH in a 06 corvette and imagine going 85MPH in an 85Oldsmobile.

You pay for the quality that these amps are made with, and its all in the inside. try it for yourself, save up a little, because when you get into car stereo you will want better and better and if you have the oportunity to start with something good then do so, just wait a little more and get something thats worth it.

Visionik isn't bad. From what I've heard, they do fairly close to rated power or right on it, and are decently reliable. Not US Amps quality, but I doubt you'd be disappointed.

wow, all that just to say that you're still doing 85 mph. point is, i could buy a viper 1200.1 for $200 or a JL Audio 1000/1 for $600 and the viper is still putting out a solid 1200 watts for $400 less. If you don't have the money to go higher end, make due with what you got.

Secondly, the 1000/1 will put out 1000w at any voltage thats why it that much, when in the other hand the viper puts out 1200w+ at 14.4v, lets say you only get 13-13.5v you will probably see 800-950w and with impedance rise you will be narrowed down some more.

I would think the JL is more expensive because of the name, quality of components used, and the R&D that went into it...not because it has a regulated power supply, although that could factor into the R&D costs.

i'm sure you're right about the viper...............not. i've had the viper personally benched at 12 volts and mine came out at 1214 watts so there goes your theory. like i said ---if you can't afford high end stuff, make due with what you can. And just because you learned the term impedence rise last week by reading someone else's post, doesn't give you the right to throw it around like you know what you're talking about. Oh and jl costs that much because there are dumbassssses who will pay it.

Viper 1200D is 12v rated, 1200rms @ 1ohm, 12v
