Now I understand MMATS are very good amps, US Made underrated, blah blah.

As far as I understand basic electric Volts x Amps = Watts...so this amp uses 80 amps for fuse rating. Constant voltage to the amp will prob be around 12-14 volts. no this gives us a maximum watts of between 960 and 1120 Watts,

How come it is rated for 1400 Watts RMS?

high voltage rails ma man. it raises the voltage internally to reduce the amperage draw. it works out.
