How is this possible????

actually my trunk is about to pop open from the flex and my car rattles and flexes way more than his, but you are correct his car seems louder outside as well. but shouldnt that mean that the sound isint staying inside and should make it less loud inside?
What do you have in your car?

Audioque HDC315 with an AQ2200D. Box is 4.25 cubes tuned to 38hz.

No hair tricks going on there, but like i said, I like the sound. If you haven't peeled the rugs and stuff back you'll be in for a surprise. They did a decent job deadening.

lol thats what im trying to do is get hair tricks. im kinda close tho.

my trunk had no deadener on it stock. i pulled up all the carpets and added some to the lid which did NOTHING for sound enhancement. my car only that foam stuff under some the carpet and those stupid pillow things. there was none in the spare area or near the bumper and taillights whatsoever.

Well it's not deadener per-se. It is just some form of dampening material. A lot of other cars don't even have that. I will be honest. If your car can break 140s you did a decent job. It's just a hard car to get loud. If you run across a 300M forum where somebody did manage to get that car loud let me know. I won't say I maxed the potential out in mine, but I did do a lot.

i may be in the 140's but ive never been metered and i never will be cuz theres no "real" audio shops within 50 miles of me. ive called every audio shop in rochester and none of them have a TL or a clamp.

lol. u ****.

How confident are you that you've built a proper box? Air leaks, different port lengths, or differences in chamber volume could make your box cancellation city.

you say your rear seats fold down ?

is your car any louder in side if you have em down then?

and a realley stupid thing to check - all ground wires

and ohm load to the amp, just to see what the deal is.

aparently fiberglass is also a good sound insulator, as my vette is pretty quiet outside if my windows are all up, - but absolutely jaming in side

Not so stupid. I got metered then went home and cleaned my grounds up. Drimmel tooled every thing after I undid them and even took the bolts and washers and wire brushed them. Next week I scored 3 db's higher.

Your grounds must have been loose then:).

Could have been. I noticed that the bolts and washers had that goldish orangish coating on it that a lot of shops use I took that stuff off as well.

yes its louder with the seats folded down both im his car and mine.

my ground is direct to my battery. its a very long 0/1 maybe 16 feet wire but its direct. should i ground to the body so i can have a shorter wire? i dont think thats the issue tho but maybe.

and about the box. i am extremely confident that it is built well i have built lots of boxes. there is no leaks at all gorilla glue and caulk on both. i used bolts for terminals so there no leaks there. both boxes were common chamber and both are slot ports. the new box is subs up port back the old box was subs and port back. both boxes have double front baffles and bracing and are extremely strong and rigid.
