how is snoopdann and t e a m d a i l y doing

its stiffer and not pourus like mdf //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Well, here is how I got the idea....

pour some water on mdf and it will sit on the top. Pour water on the advantec and it absorbs. I trust you though, just explaining where I got the idea or were you talking about the marble?

I had a random thought, that with more/smoother port area in the bend it creates a lower pressure area that assists with air flowing through the bend with less turbulence
you're getting closer //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif and Flipx is right too, its a compression methodology ... why else would you use an 18 in such a small box //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

One of the marble's properties is that it is acoustically dead due to its material attributes (dense)....plus its been glasspeened/resined from the manufacturing process so its smooth to begin with so I dont have to resin 1/3 of the enclosure right off the bat during the build. I also waxed the marble with Zymol to decrese drag (and made the box smell alot better two //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif )

ok, i posted these pics in another forum but since we are on the topic ill post them here, me and snoopdan built this box with 350 lbs on concrete, I burped well over 150dBs with only 3000 watts, and 153.5 with 4000 watts. The bass bounces off the concrete very well

shytt, u guyz are spl freakss!!!
does doing all these crazy stuff is worth for sound quality, or its really basically for high output?
it really has no effect on SQ, its just for concentrated bandwidth output / single note burps.

However, I do drive around with the box daily in my ride, tuned to 59 hz //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

How much does your box + sub weigh snoopdan?
This box here me and dan built weighs around 500 lbs, luckly I have air ride. Can u imagine how furn it was getting that box in the cab of a ranger. Took about 4 hours, and 6 people, no joke. Snoop, do you still have those pics.

Here is pics of danny's build, so we dont have to start another thread.

This is his first setup, believe it or not it was creepin around 149's at 80hz with this box, which was amazing to me it was even that high.

Then we ripped it out and beat down the floor in the ranger to prepare for the wall to fit in it. One of the next door neighbors decided he wanted to come over and beat on the floor for a while so we let him have at it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

Here I am crunching some numbers on the box before we build it

PICT0005.jpg

Danny starts on the carriage bolts thru the back of the box. This will bolt on thru the concrete once its poured.

PICT0022-1.jpg

Just poured the concrete....letting it set in the back of the box.

Here is Danny working on the port right after we poured the concrete in

and here it is after the concrete is cured and ready to put in the truck

Thats pretty much it, and you've seen the pics of danny's truck in action.

Forgot the finals pics of the concrete ranger

Danny ended up getting 1st in M3 and took home a state record in M3 as well. Not too bad for some lower line Alphasonik 15's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

Well the MECA competition season is winding down here on the east coast, so today we had one last show here in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. The meter didnt seem too friendly to us today, maybe it had to do something with the cold and wind that as beating on us. Anyways I figured id throw up some pics of what went down.

Team Daily getting ready to compete, it was really cold and no one felt like being there

This is Bassranger using an Adassa Warlord on his M3 wall, I believe he did a 152.x today and took home E^2 points champion in his class //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

Ronnie Sanders (Team Daily) swapping out his drive-by competition enclosure right before competition! Always a last minute issue when your competing.

Tim Oyler (Team JBL) and good friend of ours here in the lanes.. Its a dodge colt, and to be able to fit 4 15" JBL subs and two crowns, he's had to put air ride on the colt to support the weight. I beleive he did a 155.x at the event in MX1 Class

PICT0033-1.jpg

Josh Baker (Team Daily) during his drive by run. Not only did he take points champion for the Elizabethtown events, he also won the Xtreme Deathmatch competition (2 min of straight tones)

PICT0035.jpg

The only female MECA competitor at the show today, I totally forgot her name but she does have a sweet ride. She also won points championship in her class (she's the one standing next to me in the last picture here with the trophies)

The event was great except for one guy who whined on the MECA forum because I pointed out to the judges that he was cheating //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif Nothing I hate more than cheaters.
