Would it be possible to wire your amp so that it helped charge your battery? kinda like an alternator, but without the belt. i dont even know if this is a legitimate question, so ill stop rambling and let you guys tell me what an idiot (or how smart, fat chance) i am for this idea.

Well, amps just convert one form of power (12V DC) to another (variable frequency AC), they don't actually produce any electricity. If they did, we wouldn't have to power them off the battery -- which would be freakin' awesome of course, but not possible.
