How important is the preamp output voltage?

Alright im currently looking fora new radio, and i look at some and they look good, but they have a low voltage output so I was wondering how important is it? Would I notice a difference between say 2.5 or 5 volt? I am currently running 2 amp, a 4 channel, and a mono. Any help would be appreciated.

Be careful with that tho, some amps a picky when it comes to input voltage. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

ur gain settings on your amp(s) could(and should) be lower due to thats what they are used for..adjusting to voltage of your HU not volume..so less likelyhood of distortion if you set them correctly..if set incorrectly, more chance of distortion..lol
