how hard?

how hard is it to mount 6.5" coax speakers into a 6x9 slot? I have 6x9 rear slot and these 6.5 in front.

I would like to mount them in the back and get a set of components in the front and possibly mount the tweeter in the 4x6 dash slot?

just get some speaker adapters and the adapters mount right to your stock locations and you aftermarket speakers will mount to those. this might help > http://www.cardomain.com/shoplist~t~Universal+Speaker+Adapters

Just make your own out of MDF. Simple enough and will work better than flimsy plastic ones.

If at all possible, definitely make your own from MDF. Then just make sure there is a nice seal between the MDF and the mounting location and the MDF and the speaker. Plastic adapters have a much more apparent resonance frequency and can rattle much more easily. Also usually more expensive...
