How hard is a door install in a Lexus?

Someone told me its gonna cost a grip to get comps in the Lex GS300 because of the way Lexus makes their doors. They have some built is sound deadening tech and the guy described the install as taking apart jigsaw puzzel and he charges 65$ an hour.

I'm probably gonna bite the bullet and do it, but how much time do you think it would take to install a comp set in my front doors only. Depending how much the install is will detertmain if i get an amp to power them.

So how long do you think it would take to do the install with and without an amp?

I've worked on GS before and i'm about to buy myself a GS400.

What size speaker do you plan on installing?

5.25 comps. i want something good so im thinking alpine/eclipse/jl's

The Lexus door isn't hard to take off. The install is like mother other cars out there:

A few screws here and there, and the doors come off. The only problem you will run into is the that plastic thing that holds the speakers (the enclosure). You're better off getting 3/4" MDF baffle (make it or have someone make it) because you'll get better sound (plastic for teh l0se).

not hard at all to remove the door panels. a difficult door panel would be a murcielago... not really because they're difficult but because of positioning to get to the bolts and stuff isn't easy when the doors open up, and not out. done plenty of lexus'... put pro60's in the front and back doors of one a while back, i think it was a GS430. iirc a GS300 is a camry?

yo, check this bullshit

i went into the shop to look into getting my comps yesterday and the guy was giving me the same old bullshit

he said each door would take 2-3hours to do, plus he'd have to build new casings for the door and the tweeter, and he would have to wire my amp in which would be really difficult on my door for some reason

he was basically chargin 400$ for the install, **** that

im gonna look for another install place, im really weary about goin to circuit city or some shitty place like that and i dont think i could do the install given i have no experiance at all

honestly im very scared about installing my comps too.

The only experience i have installing is a complete subwoofer setup.

so what im going to do?

Check these forums. over and over again. and ask questions to stuff i dont find. It's gonna be funi think, my friend is coming over to help me.

might as well learn somehewre =D
