How hard do RE8's hit?

I'm thinking of getting a couple and putting each in a sealed .4 - .5 cubic foot enclosure and giving them about 200 watts each. They'll be in a truck stlye box behind the bench seat of my '90 F-150, single cab.

Now, because everyone has a different opinion of what's "loud," here's a situation:

I'm 16 years-old, about to be a junior in high school. Most of my friends are 16, but no one in our "group" has a system yet, except for this one guy. He has a couple of 10" P2's in a box designed to fit in a box under the back seat of his extended cab truck. So anyway, he installed it the other day and turned it up a little when everyone was over at his house the other day and everyone was impressed, which I guess shows how easily impressed my friends are.

Anyway, how would my RE8's compare? I know 2 10's have more cone area and all that good stuff, but I figure Resonant Engineering > Rockford.

They'll sound good....

I would probably do 10's as well seeing as how I already experienced Re8's. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Either way, it would sound good. The 10's would probably seem a little lower though.

Yeah, trust me if I had ANY more space behind that seat I would opt for the 10's, but the max I can get per sub is probably about .50 cubic feet sealed, and that's too small for the RE10, so I have to go with the RE8.

They will pound plenty good enough for ya. I installed a couple in my brothers car in a ported box and they slam. Right around 135 on the NTL and they are quite accurate. Have another comp coming up this weekend and I plan on getting his system into the migh 130's on the NTL. This was run off of a KX600.1 at 4 ohms, so 150 a piece. They are good. For the price they are pretty much impossible to beat. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

hehehe,

i like re 8s, i have 6 of them in my standard cab truck with a hifo 1000d ported

while not mind blowing loud(139.5 dbs on a new mike) it is very accurate, and blurs vision

im happy(mostly because i simply cant fit any more in there ported)

tell you the truth, i really dont like driving my truck, i usually end up hurting my **** ears cause it sounds so good

Umm.. I got one and it hits pretty hard but it sounds great while doing so. Not too sure if people can hear you bumping on the highway but in my experiences its pretty loud. My RE8 rattles windows when I park in my driveway with both of my windows rolled down.
