How good will this bump 06 S15L7's?

The lanzar was a viberant 2000 watt two channel amplifier. It was refurbished (my first mistake in buying it) I hooked my speakers up the way they are now, paralell at 2 ohms. Ran it into the bridged ports, fired up my car and the two 25a fuses blew out. Tried it again and they blew again. Protection light has been on ever sense, am gonna use the warranty to get a new one and just sell it to someone for 100 bucks or so.
There's your problem. It's not that the amp was a piece of trash, although the Viberant series isn't exactly what I would call a great amp, it's that you ran a 2 ohm load to that amp bridged when it's only stable to 4 in bridged mode. So before you go flaming a piece of equipment about how crappy it is, you might want to check to see if you hadn't done something to cause the failure, which you did in this case.

who told u that OPTI puts out 2200? i heard they did rated power, but never underrated..... i also heard soundstream was overrated by alot.....2-300watts
A lot of the Optis are underrated, it's usually not by much, so it's really not worth mentioning. I would take an Opti over a SS any day, but really, this is just a matter of personal preference. Some will like Lanzar (me), some will like SS (everyone else). It's kinda like saying Ford is better than Chevy.

I still didn't see anything about not bridging to 2 ohms. With such "advanced" circuit protection why did it blow the amp if I made such a simple mistake.

Again, is the phoenix gold good enough to beat out the lanzar!?

PG is a good brand.

You blew the amp by running it too low, deal with it.

Running an amp bridged @ 2 ohms is the same as running each channel @ 1 ohm. Either way the amp is NOT rated to do mono 2 ohm OR 2 ch 1 ohm.

Not many stereo amps are 2 ohm bridgeable... and it's not a "simple" mistake, it's flat out doing it wrong, running it past it's specs and such. In any case you should probably just look for a separate mono and stereo amp if you need to make 1kw for the subs. Plus you'll need one that makes 1kw at 2 ohms, which is harder to find and more expensive than finding one that makes 1kw at one ohm...

Because you ran it at 2 ohms, when it's only stable to 4 ohms. And if you think a Viberant series amp has "Advanced" circuit protection, then you really do need to read up a LOT about car audio. I'm not trying to bash you, just providing the facts. And I want to know, will the Lanzar power up out of protect mode with your speakers disconnected?? If it does, then you still have a decent amp to power a set of front components. My guess is it will power up.

Oh, and Phoenix Gold is some nice stuff. Not as good as they used to be, but still very good nonetheless.

im kindof in the same boat. i havent had any good luck with my SS. its all fkups on my part, but never the less..im not doing so well with ss. still loud as hell tho. i believe itll do like 19-1950x1 @1. i know alot of guys who run lanzar and love it, bullet proof. few extra watts is always a bonus also

Well, I guess it was a little mistake which was amendable at first. I messed up real bad, it blew the two fuses first off, STILL powered up to green led, then popped a second time. Shame on me the second time, the amp saved me at first and stupidly I tried a second time without rewiring it.

Ok now again, before I completely fux up a GOOD amp, this phoenix gold is a mono block 1 channel. Meaning it has only one positive and negative for the speakers. The way they are hooked paralell to make 2 ohms, I can simply plug them in to run at two ohms on the phoenix gold yes, this will NOT blow it like the lanzar did cause I bridged it.

Protection is always on.

I've ran Lanzar quite a bit. From the old days of the black chassis Optis:yumyum: , to a Viberant 4 channel, to a Vibe D class, and even a silver Opti at one point. I've never experienced a failure with any Lanzar product, pre or post Sound Around buyout. If you install it correctly, it will work fine. And if you buy one of their lower lines, ie:Vibe, Viberant, Max, and don't expect it to do what the heatsink says, you'll be happy.

Well if the power is correct, and phoenix gold is as good as fosgate amps, it should be pure 100 percent power. Unlike a lightning amp or some such nonsense right? As in a crappy lightning one not a good one.

And what is specifically loud?..enough to give my windows some flex? ehheh...

it might have two +s and two -s on the amp. It just makes it easier for you so you don't have to squeeze all the wires into one outlet. Internally, they are connected., so it's actually one set of + and -.......
