How does running 8 volt batteries work?

I was wondering how does a 8 volt system work? Do you need some parts to make it work? I would imagine that a stock electrical system could not function and would constantly blow fuse and possibly worse. I think turbo start made a 16 volt but I would guess that is two 8 volts in one.

juss wirin the batts a certain way, thats all. gotta have an amp that will handle 16v. takes an modded amp to do so, few come from the factory that way. u get a gain, but usually u are in a diff class. and to charge em, u would need a 16v alt or u can manual charge em like i do
