How do the L7 sound

um.... i asked because his post was completely off topic. squeak, how many different installs have you heard the L7 in? i realize you may think they sound like shit, its pretty much opinion, but maybe you just havent heard it in the right install?

How good are the kicker Solo-Baric L7 12'' or 10'' i am thinking about getting 3 of them dont know what size yet though

Anyway, to answer the original question. I have had a 10 inch L7 and it sounded great! I now have a 2004 12" L7 and I love it even more. Both my 10 and 12 have been built in a Kicker Specified box that comes in the manual. They have 3 different box designs for different volume. I have built the biggest and they sound great. I love them. And no im not kissing kickers ***.

Well, that's it, I'm sold on the product simply because someone who works for the manufacturer said they sound amazing (and I can't imagine why he would say something like that).

I understand everyone else on this board kisses Kicker's a$$, but my opinion is my opinion and that isn't going to change because there is a Kicker cheerleader saying something different.

Sub X can sound great in an SQ install but sub Y will sound much better in an SQ install. Although Sub X is moslty installed for SPL purposes and sounds like crap(my opinion, and many of yours im sure)people magiacally find it amazing that it can sound ok in an SQ install. But still, in the same class setup, sub Y will sound better than sub X.

Im just trying to get the point across that most people who have the L7 installed, dont install it for pure SQ, so they mostly dont sound good, at all. But installed for pure SQ purposes it sounds pretty good but not as good as most other subs installed for the same purpose.

I'm not trying to "pick a useless fight." I post my opinion of the sub, then the manufacturer feels the need to tell I'm stupid and argue with me about my opinion, like having him tell me "mine sounds great" is going to change my opinion.

HE posted before you did to begin with trying to help. Then you post "they sound like wet fart" which does indeed make you sound stupid because L7s can sound **** good. Maybe the one or two you've heard have sounded bad, hardly putting you in a position to generalize them like that. Then when Polecat gives an example of how to make one sound good, you jump all over him.

Sound like a wet fart IMO.....but whatever. A lot of other subs I would choose before a L7 for SQ/SQL purposes.
