it seems im having this somewhat confusion over how to tune each and every component i have on my car audio set up. since there are a lot of available components that will prove useful when one tunes his whole system, there seems to be lots of variables to consider when choosing and applying such. i want my system to be as very simple as logically possible for me to adjust evrything easier.
my system consists of an alpine cda-9801, a kicker x3.1 xover, two alpine 12in E subs, a 200x2 rockford fosgate power amp, four pairs of 6.5 kicker separates, and a hifonics neptune four-channel amp.
now my concern is how to tune my deck along with my xover to get the best sound as possible. my deck has a built in low pass frequency setting (i.e. 60hz, 80hz, 100hz and 200hz) as well as high pass frequency settings (10kHz, 12.5kHz, 15kHz, and 17.5kHz). we all know of course that my active xover has em too. my question is, which low and high frequency should i set in my deck? given such, where do i set my active xover frequency for low pass and high pass then? moreover, should i switch my subsonic filter on or off? would it make any difference? furthermore, i have a remote bass boost that comes along with my x3.1 and i installed within hands reach on my dash. of course i get to adjust the bass level from there. but on the main body of the trunk mounted xover, theres also this knob that says bass bosst level. i think both are the same. should i set the one on the main zero when im using the remote bass boost on my dash?
lots of questions? darn i havent even ventured out on getting an equalizer installed coz im afraid itll just complicate things even more and just might screw up my brains. hahaha!
but i just like my set up as it is at present. like what ive said, simple is better.
i need advice on this guys. hope you could help me out.
