How do i power these???

I have 2 alpine type r swr-12d4s, Right now i have a cheapy amp just to get by. But i just did the Big 3 upgrade and ran 1/0 all the way back. So I'm looking to upgrade the amp to better suit the sub. I have a friend who is willing to sell me 2 pdx 1000.1s for 500 and I'm wondering if thats too much? If so I'll prolly look into the hifonics brx 2400.1. So are the 2 pdx's too much power?

That's not a bad price seeing as how they're around 1000-1100 brand new (500-550/pc.). However you could get by a lot cheaper with a 2k mono that'll run those Alpines for around 225-300. Here's what I'd get personally if I had 430 to spend and wanted around 2000 watts rms: Q1-2200D There's also Hifonics that are decent budget amps. Stick with the BRZ (Brutus Series) models on those. MB Quart is a decent product, especially if you can find a Discus 2000.1. Both are made by Maxxsonics and do rated.

go for the pdx amps if they are in working condition. They are much more efficient than a lot of amps out there so there will be less strain on the electrical. They are perfect to push the type r's with.

Ok so if I go with the PDX 1000.1 will I need both? OR will 1 push both??
