Loud buzzing/humming noise from speakers???

I recently put in a new amp and rewired all my speakers. When turning on the amp and HU the speakers will make a loud constant humming/buzzing noise. The sound level stays the same whether the volume is up or down, it also does not change with acceleration. The only time it does change is when more RCAs are plugged in. With one set plugged in almost no noise, with 2 sets in the noise gets louder, with 3 sets in the humming gets a lot louder. The HU is not the problem and I'm doubting its a ground issue. What else could it be? I also ran jumper cables from the neg battery terminal to the ground of the HU and Amp ground... noise was still there

Could be a ground loop between your amp and head unit. I would try grounding your amp and your RCA's near the same location. If the grounding doesn't help, try using a short 1/8" headphone to RCA splitter cable and test your amp with a phone or MP3 player to see if the noise is coming up your RCA's in your current installation. I keep one of these cables handy for testing...

are your pwr wires and rca's run apart from each other? (life diff side of the car?)

sounds like a rca ground loop issue tho
